In your own piece
Seeds of Renaissance is a vision and movement for civilizational rebirth.
Seeds of Renaissance is a place for seekers who sense the impending death of old paradigms and long for the ideas, the practice, and the company to help birth the new. It is a movement and a space of belonging, offering mythos and language for what so many already feel.
Seeds of Renaissance is a place for seekers who sense the impending death of old paradigms and long for the ideas, the practice, and the company to help birth the new. We are living in a transition moment, the slow death of modernity, while the new world has not yet been born. There is disillusionment and a widespread loss of meaning, yet no coherent cultural vision powerful enough to guide what comes next. Seeds of Renaissance sets out to plant the seeds of a movement and foster a greenhouse for a new paradigm: not a return to the past, but a genuine rebirth drawing on all that has come before. It makes a podcast, a yearly print and online magazine, and papers and essays, and runs courses, online calls and gatherings, with local groups emerging in several countries. It was initiated by Life Itself in 2022 as Second Renaissance, formally launched in 2024, and took its new name in 2026. Its stewards are Sylvie Shiwei Barbier and Rufus Pollock.
It is for people who are disillusioned by the crises of modern civilization, sense that something new is trying to emerge, and are searching for grounded hope. Please write Seeds of Renaissance in full; it was formerly Second Renaissance.
At the heart of the mark is a swallow, whose flight announces spring after a period of darkness. Around it, fingerprints radiate like seeds, forming the rays of a new dawn. Red, white and black speak of life, death and transition.

Seeds of Renaissance is stewarded by Sylvie Shiwei Barbier and Rufus Pollock, and made by many people: curators and advisors, artists and writers, podcast guests, and the people who host calls and local groups.
Our embodiment in living is one of the greatest ways we plant the seeds of a renaissance. It shows that there is a way to be on a powerful spiritual path while raising children. Sylvie Shiwei Barbier
